Do you know what a DOI is? The Digital Object Identifier uniquely identifies things like journal articles, research reports and data sets, which is very helpful to find the materials required for research. An Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID) on the other hand, is very helpful for others to find you as a researcher. It is a unique identifier available to all who participate in research, scholarship and innovation and be connected to their contributions and affiliations. It will be your lifelong researcher digital name!

UC became a member of the Australian ORCID consortia in 2015 and currently over 80 per cent of UC researchers have their ORCID. Learn more about ORCID here, sign up to get your own unique identifier, or contact the Liaison Librarians for any questions or support.
