Congratulations tjackie_portraito Jackie French, an Australian author whose abundant body of work includes Children’s books, Historical Novels, Gardening books and much more, on winning the 2014 N.S.W. Senior Australian of the Year.

Jackie is the Australian National Children’s Laureate for 2014 and 2015 and is a passionate advocate of help for children with learning difficulties as well as the conservation of wildlife and our planet.

If you would like to learn more about her work the UC Library holds a number of her books in the general collection. More can be found in the Lu Rees Archives of Children’s Literature located on Level D.

She has been kind enough to donate some of her working papers and manuscripts to the Lu Rees Archives. The papers include drafts, correspondence, manuscripts and notes from editors showing the writing process as a book evolves.  These materials have been donated to help researchers and students  with research.
